Venue
We'll be using our brand new building in the SOMA area here in San Francisco. Think skylights, big open space, and an HVAC system to die for. It's an easy walk from Civic Center and the new Federal Building, and right around the corner from Mr. Smith's, which is where the happy hour will be, in conjunction with IxDA SF.View On Le Google
Happy Hour with IxDA SF
CHANGE OF VENUE: No longer at Custom Lounge! We are co-sponsoring the happy hour with IxDA, starting at 5pm at Mr. Smith's. The IxDA happy hour folks will be meeting us at Mr. Smith's after the sessions to join our group socializing forces. It's open to anyone in the community, so if you have people that weren't able to make it to URF, you can invite them to the happy hour to get their interaction design community fix. There will be a cash bar with happy hour pricing available.

TechSmith brought the awesome by sponsoring snacks and giving away a copy of their $1,295 software, Morae! We'll raffle that off and all conference attendees can also get tons of Techsmith goodies with registration.

2006: The First One
In 2006, around 140 people came out to listen to user research topics and grab drinks
From the Authors of Remote Research (and Flagrantly Inappropriate Users of the Color Pink as a Design Element)

The co-author of the brand new in 2010 Rosenfeld Media book, Remote Research, will be presenting. It's the first book on online user research methods written in the history of humankind.

Well congratulations, my fine scrolling friends. You've made it to the last box. This one is for all the students out there. Well, five students, to be specific. What is this, SXSW, you say? No, but we could still use five student volunteers to help run this bad boy. For 1-2 hours of work, you'll get 2-3 hours of conference time. NOT BAD.
